EMB Baumaschinenhandelsgesellschaft mbH, based in Neukirchen vorm Wald, Bavaria, is a family-run, medium-sized company. Founder Ludwig Ellinger has been a pioneer in drilling technology since the 1970s and in demolition technology since the early 1980s. The in-depth expertise and many years of experience of the Ellinger family and their dedicated employees, together with the modern and efficient machinery, form the solid foundation of the company.
Chronicle
In 1985, Ulrike and Ludwig Ellinger laid the foundation stone for the EMB family of companies in the garage of their newly built home in Leoprechting near Hutthurm. With great dedication and passion, a successful medium-sized company grew out of this.
From the very beginning, Ludwig Ellinger specialised in the repair of fully hydraulic drill rigs, row drilling rigs, rock drilling rigs and hydraulic hammers. With a mobile service vehicle, this work was carried out directly on the customer's construction site, which enabled a fast and flexible service.
In 1987, EMB began designing and manufacturing its own demolition grabs and sorting grabs. Between 1989 and 2001, these innovative products were marketed internationally in co-operation with Krupp. At the same time, EMB developed customised auxiliary control blocks and pipework sets for Komatsu and Zeppelin, of which around 3,950 units were assembled annually throughout Germany and Europe.
In 1988, EMB became the official original equipment manufacturer for Komatsu and Zeppelin in Europe. The company supplied all auxiliary hydraulic pipework kits for their attachments, making EMB a strategic partner for these renowned manufacturers.
In 1991, EMB reached another milestone with the conclusion of an exclusive contract with the renowned Japanese construction machinery manufacturer Kobesteel (Kobelco). EMB thus became the first official dealer for Germany.
In 1992, the product range in the field of demolition technology was expanded with the introduction of the concrete pulveriser, an innovation that met the growing demands in recycling and demolition.
In 1994, the company moved to a larger and more modern facility in Neukirchen vorm Wald, which is still the company's central location today.
In 1999, EMB expanded its product range through a partnership with the German manufacturer PAUS, allowing customers to benefit from an extended variety of high-quality machines.
In 2001, EMB continued to expand its demolition technology through a co-operation with NPK, a leading global manufacturer of high-quality attachments.
In 2004, EMB took over O&K's three Bavarian sites, including the entire workforce. This takeover strengthened EMB considerably and made the company an even more efficient partner in service and sales.
Since its foundation, EMB has stood for reliability and expertise in the fields of road construction, civil engineering, recycling, demolition and specialised civil engineering. EMB has built up a strong level of trust among its customers through targeted customer orientation and customised solutions.
In 2010, EMB applied for a patent for the ELLIATOR track-based timber forwarding vehicle and began producing and marketing it.
In 2012, EMB developed and produced the CARREX special vehicle for the BMW Group in Munich, which was specifically tailored to the requirements of the automotive industry.
In 2013, following the separation of KOBELCO and CNH, EMB once again became Europe's first official KOBELCO dealer, continuing the long-standing successful collaboration.
In 2017, a modern excavator simulator was created, equipped with innovative Trimble Earth Works technology for 2D and 3D applications, which is available to customers in theory in the FORUM by EMB and on the EMB demonstration site with the digital data.
In 2019, the FORUM by EMB was opened at the EMB headquarters, an innovative meeting place for customer events, training courses and industry meetings.
